FIVE POINT PLAN

Create Single-Payer Healthcare System

image165

In countries all over the world, healthcare is provided for every citizen, at little or no cost, through a single-payer healthcare program. These countries spend far less per capita than the United States does, for much better health outcomes. Cuba, for example, provides free healthcare to every citizen, has successfully reduced childhood mortality rates, and has a higher life expectancy than the United States. In addition, the UK’s National Health Service provides higher quality and more timely care than the U.S., according to a 2014 study by the Commonwealth Fund. A U.S. single-payer system should offer healthcare free at the point of service, regardless of immigration status. This should include physical, mental, dental, reproductive, and gender transition healthcare. I support abolition of private health insurance companies. This single-payer health system will emphasis and incentive preventative care, and fund community health programs. This plan also calls for pharmaceutical companies to be brought mostly into public ownership, and the patent system to be abandoned. Finally, we will provide over $100b in research funding to research AIDS, Cancer, and other health disabilities.

Full employment through a Federal Jobs Guarantee

image166

As part of many of my plans including my infrastructure plan, the government will create a Federal jobs Program. This would give grants to local communities to employ people at a minimum of $20 per hour (indexed to cost of living), for a job tailored to each person which is aligned with each community’s needs. For example, a community could hire someone to fix potholes in their road, to teach pre-K, to convert buildings to solar energy, etc. In short: If you want a job, you can get one helping your community. This would would put an end to involuntary unemployment, and allow communities to revitalize themselves through federally-funded projects. I also support a guaranteed income for all people.

Establish Housing as a human right

image167

We can no longer wait for the time to come to stand up for the masses on affordable housing. I believe that the only path forward, is to guarantee housing to all people by instituting a land value tax in order to raise the revenue. It will be in my agenda to completely eradicate homelessness. We can also achieve this by establishing rent control.  First, I will increase funding to Section 8 and HUD housing projects. Second, I will provide funding to tenant housing cooperates. I will also require all these cooperatives to have established tenants-unions.

Education as a human right

image168

I will end all disparities to funding in schools, and remove all public funding to private schools. In my budget, we will increase funding to K-12. I am an early childhood development believer. I will establish a $25b fund within the Department of Education to fund early childhood development through grants to states. I support tuition-free higher education. This plan also includes the democratization of schools, giving teachers AND students a voice. I will cancel all student debt via quantitative easing.

Food & Water as human rights

image169

As President, I will work to eradicate food desserts and establish a national trust fund for food and water services. We will treat food and water as the public commodities that they are, and eradicate private ownership.

OTHERS

I WILL SPEARHEAD THE MOVEMENT TO LOWER THE VOTING AGE TO 16

image170

TRANS ACT

I will get this act passed to protect transgender and non-binary people from violence and discrimination, and classifying violence against transgender and non-binary people as a bona-fide hate crime.

MORE

image173

DECRIMINALIZE SEX WORK

We will also fund safe centers, and expunge all records or convictions.

image174

I will abolish ICE and CBP; Abolish the Department of Homeland Security

(They're useless tools of white supremacist bourgeoisie).

image175

END ALL DEPORTATIONS

We will offer citizenship to all undocumented people and close all the concentration camps.

image176

EXPANDING REPRESENTATION

For the District of Columbia, I will fight to ensure full representation in Congress; for Puerto Rico, I will fight for statehood and Independence.

image177

END THE DRUG WAR

On day one, I will immediately remove marijuana and most drugs from schedule one. I will pardon all nonviolent drug offenders in federal custody. I will tie many federal funds to this condition, forcing states to do the same. All new dispensaries must be worker-owned cooperatives or community owned, priority funding going to black communities.

Create a U.S. Employee Ownership Bank

Conversion Therapy
