<h2>Manley for Congress Fellowship Program</h2>The Elijah Manley for Congress Fellowship Program offers young leaders, aspiring organizers, and future change-makers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a people-powered, progressive campaign. Fellows will contribute directly to critical campaign functions while developing leadership, professional, and political skills. This program is ideal for students, recent graduates, and anyone passionate about equity, justice, and grassroots democracy.<ul><li>Timeline: There is a fall, spring and summer cohort. Spring Cohort runs from January through May 2026. Summer Cohort runs from late May through August 2026. Fellows have the option to renew for the next semester's cohort.</li><li>Time Commitment: 10–12+ hours per week (flexible, includes evenings/weekends).</li><li>Location: Hybrid, Remote, or In-Person (virtual with optional in-person engagement in Florida's 20th Congressional District).</li><li>Eligibility: Open to students, recent grads, and community members age 14+ (Minor require parental permission).</li><li>Application Deadline: May 31, 2026 (rolling admissions).</li></ul>

<h2>What Voters Need To Learn</h2>Democratic primary voters need to see immediately TV, CTV/OTT, mail, and digital ads that show Elijah Manley is a new generation of leadership who has lived the struggles working families face — and has spent his life fighting the rigged system that created them. Elijah Manley grew up homeless in Broward County and to climb out from under poverty and student debt, Elijah worked every job he could. He’s spent his life fighting back against the politicians who rigged the system — taking on the gun lobby after Parkland, and standing up to Ron DeSantis and MAGA when they tried to stop our elections, and winning. Now he’s running because the leaders of yesterday created today's problems — and Elijah is the next generation ready to fix them:<ul><li>In the wealthiest country in the world, no one should go bankrupt or die because they can't afford to see a doctor — that's why Elijah will fight to pass Medicare for All and cancel medical debt. Insurance companies and corporate middlemen shouldn't get to decide who lives or dies.</li><li>While too many Democrats have stayed silent, Elijah Manley has been clear: what is happening in Gaza is a genocide, and American taxpayer dollars should not fund it. She was caught <a href="https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2025/07/rep-debbie-wasserman-schultz-violates-stock-act-for-fourth-time" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">violating federal stock disclosure law four times</a> and <a href="https://www.capitoltrades.com/articles/gold-timing-defense-debbie-wasserman-schultz-s-top-trades-2025-07-08" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">bought stock</a> in an industry she helped oversee. And she is the payday lending industry's most reliable ally in Congress — taking over $68,000 from payday lenders who charge 304% interest and target Black neighborhoods, earning the nickname <a href="https://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/debbie-wasserman-schultz-payday-lenders-220527" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">"Debt Trap Debbie"</a> for backing what the NAACP calls "modern-day redlining." In 2011, she also <a href="https://www.browardpalmbeach.com/news/debbie-wasserman-schultz-tells-radio-host-her-endorsement-of-cca-prison-still-stands-6465453/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">advocated for a proposed ICE detention facility</a> to be built in Broward County.</li><li>Voters need to know that Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/south-florida-congresswoman-charged-stealing-5-million-fema-funds-and-making-illegal" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">federally indicted</a> and <a href="https://rollcall.com/2026/03/27/ethics-panel-cherfilus-mccormick-public-hearing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">found by the House Ethics Committee to have committed wrongdoing</a> — for <a href="https://www.miamitimesonline.com/news/local/stolen-money-straw-donors-and-a-diamond-ring-the-charges-against-sheila-cherfilus-mccormick/article_c49e7e5d-07e6-4605-b5fd-3dbf8779dc93.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">funneling millions</a> in federal COVID/FEMA funds into her own campaign. She is the textbook example of the corruption voters are sick of.</li><li>Voters need to know that Dale Holness is a decades-long Broward County political insider, dogged by <a href="https://www.sun-sentinel.com/2022/11/17/dale-holness-former-campaign-consultant-sentenced-to-15-months-in-prison-for-covid-relief-fraud/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">corruption</a> and <a href="https://redbroward.com/2017/08/28/bogenvote/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">self-dealing,</a> who is part of the same broken machine that has failed South Florida families. His own daughter — who served as his campaign treasurer — <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/former-broward-mayor-daughter-campaign-231100904.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges</a> after prosecutors identified her father's campaign account as the source of funds she diverted for personal expenses, with some of that money flowing directly to the rent on Dale Holness's own real estate business. Holness’s other daughter served <a href="https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/daughter-of-broward-commissioner-accused-of-covid-19-relief-fraud/2532122/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">20 months in federal prison</a> for a $300,000 PPP fraud whose shell corporation, Holness Consulting Inc., was registered at the same address as Dale Holness's own real estate office. Raised by a hardworking single mother and growing up in deep poverty, Elijah experienced chronic homelessness, food insecurity, and the harsh realities of living paycheck to paycheck. He understands what it’s like to go to school hungry, to live without electricity, and to wonder where his family would sleep at night.But despite these hardships, Elijah refused to let his circumstances define him. As a teenager, he started his own small landscaping business, knocking on doors to earn money to help his mother with bills, buy his own school supplies, and even afford bus passes to get to the library—his refuge for learning and growth. At just nine years old, he was inspired by Barack Obama’s historic election, igniting his passion for public service. He began writing to elected officials, speaking at school board and city council meetings, and advocating for issues affecting his community. The American healthcare system just doesn't work for regular people. Elijah believes that healthcare is a human right, and in Congress, he will fight for that. Here's how.<h5>Medicare for All</h5>In the wealthiest country in the world, no one should go bankrupt or die because they can’t afford healthcare. Insurance companies and middlemen shouldn’t get to decide who lives or dies. That’s why in Congress, Elijah will cosponsor Medicare for All.<h5>Cancel Medical Debt</h5>You shouldn’t go bankrupt for going to the doctor. In Congress, Elijah Manley will lead the charge on cancelling all medical debt. Additionally, hospitals charge you one price, and insurance companies charge you another. Your hospital bills are often a moving target, which isn’t fair. Elijah Manley supports removing medical debt from credit reports and will work with stakeholders to codify this into law.<h5>Cap Prescription Drug CostS</h5>Elijah Manley supports limiting out-of-pocket prescription drug expenses for families to $2,000 a year. Elijah also supports imposing a federal cap on what big Pharma can charge for life-saving prescription drug costs, including insulin, blood thinners, and Alzheimer’s medicine.<h5>Expand Medicaid</h5>In Florida's 20th Congressional District, 17.1% of residents are uninsured, mostly because Florida has continuously refused to expand Medicaid. In District 20, 150,000 people are on Medicaid. Expanding Medicaid is vital to provide healthcare for low-income individuals. We don’t have universal healthcare, but until we get there, we need Governors to accept federal medicaid dollars. When they don’t, Elijah will support workaround legislation that forces them to.<h5>Importation of Cheaper Prescription Drugs</h5>If we can't break big Pharma's grip domestically, Elijah will support bipartisan federal legislation to allow for the safe importation of lower-cost prescription drugs from countries like Canada. You shouldn't pay 10x more for the same drug.<h5>More Hospitals, More Clinics</h5>District 20 needs more hospitals and more clinics, especially in our low-income and minority communities. Elijah renews his long-held call for federal and state investment in community health clinics, aiming for one healthcare facility in every zip code.<h5>Home Healthcare for Seniors</h5>Our seniors have spent their lives working hard for us, it's time for us to do the same for them. They deserve to live with dignity, not be neglected. Elijah will work to expand home care services and to raise wages and benefits for care workers. Manley will also support a major federal investment in home healthcare, allowing more people to get the education and training they need to get jobs in this field.<h5>Reproductive Healthcare</h5>Elijah Manley supports a woman’s right to make choices regarding her body and her reproductive care. In Congress, he will oppose a national abortion ban, vehemently oppose any attempt to limit reproductive rights, and work to Codify Roe. Elijah will also support legislation to combat black women’s maternal health crisis.<h5>Black Men’s Health</h5>In Congress, Elijah Manley will work to establish a National Black Men’s Health Initiative and a White House Office of Black Men's Health. The initiative will support a dedicated federal program to research and eliminate racial disparities in healthcare outcomes for black men, with a focus on chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, prostate cancer, colon cancer, and mental health.We need expanded mental health access, funding for culturally competent community-based clinics, more black males in mental health professions through scholarships, training, and more educational opportunities, and an end to the stigmatization of mental health through public education and PR campaigns.Furthermore, in Congress, Elijah Manley will support efforts to require cultural-competency training in the healthcare and medicine industries to root out racial biases. Through Elijah’s legislation, a federal entity will be created allowing patients to report incidents of medical racism and bias and empowering that federal agency to act.The issue of black men’s health isn’t just a healthcare issue, it’s an economic one as well. Additional economic opportunities, jobs, funding for entrepreneurship, innovation, and black men’s small business ideas will foster healthy minds and healthy bodies, too. The Democratic Party has continued to take black men’s health issues for granted. Black families deserve better.

The organization says it now has more than 1,000 campaign volunteers nationwide, including a significant presence in South Florida.“We are the political force that will restore global aid.” Asher Moss, Executive Director of the Alliance said. “We believe America should be a humanitarian leader on the world stage. A force for good.”Speaking at the event, Manley emphasized the importance of global aid to both regional and global stability.“Foreign aid is important, and South Florida is the gateway to the rest of the world,” Manley said. “It matters for trade, for immigration and for our economy. What’s happening in Haiti and Venezuela shows why the United States must lead on the global stage, not just through military force, but by supporting people who are going through the struggle.”Over the past two decades, USAID has saved more than 90 million lives through famine relief, disease prevention, and other lifesaving interventions. Yet USAID accounted for just one cent of every three federal dollars, delivering extraordinary impact at a vanishingly small cost to taxpayers. This year, for the first time, China will deliver more foreign aid than the US - threatening to take America’s position as the world’s leading power. A new, bipartisan political action committee focused on strengthening U.S. global aid is throwing its support behind Democrat Elijah Manley’s bid for Florida’s 20th Congressional District.The <a href="https://a4al.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Alliance 4 American Leadership</a>, founded by Palm Beach resident Asher Moss after the <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/goats-and-soda/2025/07/01/g-s1-75222/usaid-trump-humanitarian-rubio-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">dissolution</a> of the U.S. Agency for International Development (<a href="https://www.usaid.gov/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">USAID</a>), endorsed Manley at its launch party in the county over the weekend.
